· I started the company as a one person web designer and am now responsible for the operations, finances and human resources of the company. There are 20 internal employees and at least 12 others, around the world. Operations involves everything we do, sell, collect, produce, function. Finance includes working with the bank and creditors, overseeing collections and accounts payable; budgeting; cash flow; financials and investors. Human resources involves recruiting, hiring, managing, firing, etc.
ACCOUNT MANAGER | OMNI HOTEL AT CHARLESTON PLACE | 1987-1992
· Direction of AP and AR including; cash management, vendor payments, credit, billing, research, collections and cashier functions. Supervised Financial Management Department, reporting directly to the hotel Controller.
· Designed and orchestrated the Billing Brochure and Group Billing Spreadsheet, giving our clients options for the format of their final invoice. President and CEO of OMNI HOTELS personally commended my efforts and said, "this is one of the most professional presentations I have seen and shows our commitment to guest satisfaction."
· Designed and implemented a software program compatible with the Hotel Information System for control and assistance in the accounting collection function. In less than three months, the over 60 day percentage went from 28% to 1.8%. One year later the program became a corporate standard and all OMNI hotels.
· Promoted into the OMNI Corporations first Credit Manager position. Established job description and functions for the position. Attended the 1991 annual OMNI Controller conference in Dallas, TX to present and encourage the Billing Brochure and Credit Manager position to other hotels.
· One of ten chosen from all OMNI HOTELS to become a member of the Quality Action Team to improve group billing. In 1993 went to Dallas to begin efforts on this project, followed by trips to New Orleans, LA and Cincinnati, OH. Chosen by fellow team members to accompany the QAT leader in making the final presentation of our solutions to the OMNI Corporation President and Board Members.
· Appointed PM and attended training in Hampton, NH and Cincinnati, OH in 1992 to take over all Cash Management responsibilities from Corporate. Attended training in Toronto, Canada in 1992 for GEAC Purchase and Inventory System. Participated as the pilot hotel for corporate.
